| I remember a similar story occurring in London about twenty years ago, and sadly it was also a kosher caterer. (Not that that really has anything to do with it, but the circumstances were so similar - Jewish wedding, etc.) It is a scary thought. I wonder if the recent hot weather is relevant as maybe eggs in mayonnaise or a hummus salad might have gone bad without anyone noticing.

I think caterers in england are used to getting away with leaving food out, since it is usually relatively cool.
also I heard there was a recent salmonella outbreak in eggs in the USA, maybe there is a connection.

My MIL told us about this just as I was about to use a pack of shefa mehadrin chicken - we're all still alive thankfully.
At my cousin's wedding over 30 years ago they had food poisoning. It unfortunately happens. The only wedding I've ever attended where it occurred was in the US. There was a problem with the fish.

| I'm sure the raw meat you buy in the shop is fine, it's probably the caterers who were at fault.

| The reports in the Jewish Telegraph and the JC both said that they had checked the premises of Shefa and the food and they were both clear. We were speaking to a caterer friend today who had a similar incident and she said that it could have come from anyone perhaps a waitress who was ill and passed it on.

it said a Jewish wedding, it didn't say anything about religiosity or kosher. Although if it's an external caterer like it says then it probably was.
also, it's winter in Australia now

the wedding took place in Manchester Uk. And it is well known who the caterer was.

| Was it the caterer fault? I heard it was not. They are still up and running wouldn't it be closed down if it was them?
