Lol Mazal tov for the 50 millionth time. (After in person, on facebook, etc...)
I slept in the sukkah on Friday night and heard her voice passing by once... then twice.. then three times, then four times after 2 am. Her walking with someone else and clutching her belly. I poked my husband, gave him a look, and said "Imamama is probably in labor. No one else would be taking a stroll past this many times at this time of night..."
And the whole night I was on pins and needles in anticipation for an announcement I expected in the morning. And at 6 am when I was leaving my sukkah to enter my house, this lady passes by and says "You're Seraph, right?" I'm like "Yea, and you're X, the midwife, yes?" She's like "How'd you know?" I said "Oh, I just had this really really strong suspicion that imamama was having her baby this morning."
It was nice to have that sneak peek into someone's labor, knowing they'd be having a baby soon.
But honestly, in a way it was hard, because there was nothing I could do to help, and I just ended up having not such a restful night's sleep because of my antsiness.
Her baby is beautiful and yummy and I had the privilege of being the "official photographer" after Shabbos ended, not to mention watching imamama's other kids for much of Shabbos while mama recovered.
