this is not about naming a baby but there is a lady I work for called Margarete and I'm not sure how exactly you pronounce her name, yes I know I could ask but it's a little embarrassing
is it the english Margaret? or Margareet? or Margareta, or what do you think?

In English I would say MAR GREAT, in French MAR GAR ET.

| I am pretty sure it's Mar-ga-reet. I know a few people with this name and this is how it is pronounced. mind of you one of them is known by everyone as gita. but her real name if margarete.

Probably named by someone who didn't know how to spell Marguerite.
Either way somebody is going to read it as Margarine.
