Anyone making something that's

1- a new slant on an old favorite, or

2- a totally new recipe that you just got from someone who is raving about it...?

In other words anything but the old classics, made the old classic way, by many.

If yes, can you please post it? I'm looking for original things to make for Yom Tov. TIA

My whole block tried an easy and delicious marble cake.
Maybe I'll try a new dessert.

warning to everyone: I made the onion kugel from mishpacha and I tasted a corner of it and it was SO salty. it called for 1 Tbsp of salt and I have a feeling it should have been 1 TSP. So maybe check the recipe before and see if that makes more sense. I have a feeling mine's gonna end up in the garbage Sad

I'm making a chicken with apples and leeks for one night main course. The second night is orzo with chopped meat, zucchini and fresh basil and for lunch I'll be making shnitzels with a breadcrumb and almond crust.

The tried and trues will be spinach-noodle kugel, carrot kugel, kasha varnishka, tongue with cranberry sauce and a couple other things.

Ugggh. I made three of them!! Honestly, that's why I hate making things from these magazines. I always find that the next week there's a correction...

Muffinsmommy, I'll get u the recipe... it's so easy and delicious.. never made it myself but someone else sent it for dessert after I had my youngest)
