I just realized that my DS stopped drinking apple juice at least a month ago; I'll give it to him, he'll take a little sip, and won't drink the rest. The same goes for water. I've tried plenty of times, but he refuses. Is it ok if the only liquids he ever gets is from nursing, and he sometimes has 1 formula bottle a day, though not nearly every day?

It should be ok but ask your dr to be sure. Up till 15-16 months we were told not to give ds water for a specific health reason. He had two formula bottles a day and food. They said that was enough hydration. For sure nursing should be enough.

Nursing is perfect hydration. If you're going to be out in the heat for extended periods and he isn't interested in nursing, you can offer a little water. If he's thirsty, he will drink, otherwise you're fine. Apple juice is junk food, you can skip it completely.

Why are you giving juice at all? Nursing is fine...if you feel the need to supplement in unusually warm weather offer water. If you're trying to get in calories you can offer formula (not in PLACE of a meal) or whole milk (if no allergies).

He should not be drinking apple juice.
If it is very hot and he needs a suppliment and won't take water (which is just a few sips here and there) I have added a tiny amount of tirosh (kiddush) grape juice with no sugar in it, just to slightly flavour the water and give it colour.
