I have always done a longer midday nap and just a short morning nap but now im working in the mornings I would like my baby to sleep longer in the morning but I'm not sure how it works.

My baby is 4-5 months, sleeps roughly 3-4 hours a day, goes to bed 7ish with the rest of my children and sleeps well at night BH, so far!

Any wisdom on how to space the naps and not have a grumpy baby in the afternoon?

At this age your baby still needs a small late afternoon nap, assuming you haven't yet introduced solids he/she should be feeding approx every 4 hours during the day and able to stay awake about 2 hours after naps. So if your baby is going to bed at 7, he/she would be waking up the for day at 7am feed, play until about 9ish and then going to sleep until the next feed at 11 (these are not exact times, your baby might be tired earlier or later and need to feed earlier or later, but more or less what is needed at that age), so the second nap would be at about 1ish until 3ish and then at 4.30 I would give another nap, but a short one of 45 minutes, just enough to last the rest of the afternoon, but not enough to take away the need to sleep at 7.

Thanks,
So what you described is kinda what I did today but it felt like way more sleep than I usually give my baby! And baby was quite grumpy in afternoon! Will let you know if I get some sleep tonight!
