I really need some advice. My 6 yr old dd and 8 yr old ds consistently bedwet. The 6 yr old wear pull ups so at least her linen stays dry. We tried meds but they didnt work.
My 8 yr takes meds but sometimes they dont work. I got him pull ups (the goodnites) but he conveniently forgets to put them on. I end up washing his linen like 3-4 times a week. Its just so gross all the wet linen and pjs.
We cant really take ds to the bathroom b4 we go to sleep bec. he sleeps on a loft bed and we cant get him down.
Any advice?

| Can you supervise your 8 yr old when he goes to sleep and make sure he puts it on? I have the worse problem that my child wears one and still wets through that and I still have to wash the sheets often enough. My sheets are literally shredded and they were very good quality to begin with. They have just been washed over 400 times, at least. Meds also didn't work for long here and we know not to give drinks late in the day, etc. Humph...

I'm sorry I can't really give you any advice, but I can commiserate. My dd9 (almost 10) also still wets the bed. It's starting to get better, but it's still at least once a week. We did notice that when it happens several days in a row, that very soon after she would be sick. But that didn't help us figure out how to stop the wetting.
She also still has problems during the day, too, but that's usually because she waits too long to go.

Restrict water in the evening, this includes popcicles, juicy fruits like grapes and melon, soups, everything that has a high water content. Insist that everyone pish before they get in bed, and make sure that everyone has their pull ups on.
Other than that, I'm afraid there's nothing you can do except wait for their bodies to mature. Late bedwetting is almost always genetic. What age was your DH when he was able to stay dry 24/7? _________________ See that blue button down there? The one with the WWW on it? CLICK IT!

My inlaws have a genetic predisposition for bed wetting until a much older age. Some of my kids were dry at night before they were toilet trained during the day, and others school age and still wet most night. B"H for us pullups work for my longest term wetter.
My SIL and I have discovered a direct link between being overtired and wetting the bed. When the child is more tired they sleep more deeply and are less likely to wake up when they need the bathroom.
Friday night in the summer is a huge issue, as is vacation and being off schedule. _________________ Liba, mommy to Zlata Tova 5/6/98, Tziporah Faiga 1/12/01, Esther Rivka 7/13/04 and Avraham Chaim 7/2/2006
