I thought we are not allowed to wash the tzitzit in the bathroom, because its holy.
Also can I was it with other clothes in the washing machine, with kids clothes and underwear?

I usually wash tzitsis in the bathroom. I sometimes wash it in the machine separately, without any other clothes. I'm talking about wool tzitsis. The cotton tzitsis I do wash together with other white clothes.

If you wash in the machine, put it in a lingerie bag to keep from getting so tangled up. Personally I wash in the sink.

It's not true - it is one of those myths I grew up with too. Tzitzis in themselves are not holy - it is not like tefillin for example.

They should be treated with respect (e.g. don't put them in a load with disgustingly smelly stuff) but they can be washed with other clothes.

Do men remove their tzitzit before going to the bathroom? Considering I've never seen a pile of arba kanfos outside the men's room at Ateres Whoever, the answer is clearly"no"--not even if they are worn as an outer garment rather than under the shirt. That being the case, why wouldn't you be allowed to wash them in the bathroom? They are not sheimos. They are first and foremost a garment. The strings do not have to be buried as sheimos. They just have to be disposed of with respect, like any object used to fulfill a mitzvah. There is no issur of bringing them into a bathroom.

considering the weather, the length of time the average bocher wears tzitzit before washing, and other factors, the tzitzit sometimes are the disgusting smelly stuff.

I wash dh's wool tsitis in the washing machine, in a mesh bag on warm and gentle. I hang them to dry. His talleisim go to the cleaners.

I was them with my light colored lingerie and exercise clothes, with lingerie wash. The wool seems to smell less when washed this way. I stopped washing anything on cold because I couldn't get stuff clean that way.

Yep, I was told the garment itself is not holy, it's the action they are part of that is holy. I was asking, at the time, in regards to kippot. I saw someone drop theirs, pick it up and give it a kiss before putting it back on.

(A little off-topic- lol @ the Ateres Whoever example)

I wash tzitzis with the regular white laundry. I put the strings in a long white knee sock and tie a knot so it doesnt get tangled
