I can't be the only person who on seeing this thinks, well, duh. Not being callous at all, it is VERY SAD. A real tragedy. I also don't like discrimination including against those with disabilities. But this really seems like a no brainer. Just like rides are designed only for people above a certain height and under a certain body mass one also needs average proportions in order to be safely restrained by a ride that travels in that extreme way. It is simple engineering. The restraints were designed assuming the person has full size legs. Attached to his body. Not prosthesis. He could not have fulfilled the height requirements of the ride. I am not sure why the deceased didn't think about this himself but the amusement park was obligated to and it should be stated on the signs that those with prosthetic legs may not be able to ride.
Senseless tragedy that leaves a widow and 2 orphans.

"it should be stated on the signs that those with prosthetic legs may not be able to ride"

Um yeah, if it's not kind of obvious that such a person has to be careful in life. Don't doctors instruct patients about prosthetic care?

My son's 5 year old friend has a pacemaker. Should he assume he can go on extreme amusement park rides or do extreme sports unless a sign is posted? Of course not!

Im don't know about that amusement park but I recently went to an amusement park in new jersey and there were signs. Do not ride if you are pregnant, heart condition and so on. I can't remember all of them at this time but it also said use your own judgement and if you think that you have a condition that can be harmed by the ride then you should not go. People are stupid and take thier own risks.
