24hr vacation with DH - Balt or Lakewd ideas please ASAP!

Hi,

My mother volunteered to watch my kids for 24 hours next week so that DH and I can go on vacation. We live in Baltimore and he has a wedding in Lakewood where he needs to stop in for a moment. So, anywhere between Baltimore and Lakewood would be great- any ideas? Hotels, things to do?

I'd love to figure out where we can go to a nice beach that won't be crowded - does anyone have any experience with that? Of course, I'd be dressed, but if it's relatively empty, we can enjoy some time at the beach.

You're not going to find a deserted beach at this time of the year. That being said the Jersey Shore (South New Jersey) is full of gorgeous beaches and towns that you can have a great time in.

The one exception might be Asbury Park. It used to be a real happening place but it's become pretty deserted and not well maintained. The beaches are as beautiful as ever though, because nature is in Hashem's "hands".
