How many of you know parents- who won't touch their children of the opposite gender once they reach bar or bat mitzvah age (or younger)? no hugging, kissing, or touching because of tznius? If you do know someone like this are they chassidish, litvish, or other? what is the reason? is there a basis in halacha- and what is it?

Never ever did I hear of such a chumrah with your own children. I HOPE no one did too. This is ridiculous op, why would you ask this? Do you think you know someone who doesnt touch their older daughters at all? There must be something wrong with them. (Appropriate) affection is VERY important to children of ALL AGES! Rolling Eyes

FIL doesnt touch older daugthers, besides by the mitzva tantz.
I don't know if it's Halacha or not, but I'm sure he does it for tznius.

I have a friend whose father stopped touching her when she turned Bas Mitzva. He did it as a personal chumra. They are Israeli and not really Chasidish.
