I keep on making a hachlata to daven every morning and it's so hard. I keep it for a few days and then forget about it till the next time I need to make a hachlata. (Won't mention chitas!)
Does anybody have any tips?

I travel to work every day (I don't drive), so that's when I daven. Otherwise, I prbobably wouldn't get to it. That, & breakfast - wouldn't happen if I didn't have to travel to work.

I have not davened properly in years.
This year's decision was not to eat before saying brachos each morning.

BH so far so good.

Start small...and work your way up. Brachos at minimum. Add Shema and SE when you can. Once you get into the habit of this 10 minute davening, it will be as natural to you to do as brushing your teeth.
If you drive, keep your Chitas in the car so you can always have it available at red lights or traffic jams or whatever else. If public transportation, say it then.
Hatzlacha!

I say berachot and when I am in a hurry, Mah tovu, adon olam, first two paragraphs of korbanot, baruch shaamer, ashrei, yistabach, berachot before kriat Shema, Shema then Shemona Esrei, (then if I have time) most of Tachnun, some other tefillos depending on how rushed I am and then Aleinu..

I used to say all of psukei d'zimra, but I find it is difficult to go without talking while I am chasing my kids. I am also working full time now, so I am in a major hurry in the morning.

There have been a few times I have only said berachot, Shema and Shemona Esrei...

like mimivan, it really depends on how rushed I am. I have my 5-min shachris: brchos, karban tamid, shema and shemone esrei, or my 10-min, when I say also baruch she'amar, asheri, yishtabach, then all of bircos krias shema also. If I feel even less rushed, I add some more psukei dizimra.
Sometimes, I say less but slower - in itself a ma'ala. In any case, I feel it's important to have some kind of shachris routine. I mean, who doesn't have 5-10 min. somewhere before chatzos?!

I was told, for women, shema Israel and personal tefilos are enough.

10 minutes? I absolutely cannot get a minimum matbeah done in 10 minutes... I'm super slow.

ok, that's interesting that someone mentioned tachanun.... how many do tachanun at home and not in a minyan?

if you're slow, so say less, but I think brachos, korban tamid, shema and shemone esrei is the absolute minimum. as usual, ask your LOR.
I did discover that persistance and determination were the key and then I saw the siyata dishamaya to carry it out.

Read the book rigshei lev, I really recommend it! It tells you exactly what our obligations are and what the priorities are in tfilot. It's really helped me, now I know exactly what to do.

I know for a fact that differnt eidot and differnet rabbanim hold very different opinions abvout women's obligations in davening. It's important to ask your own rav and not rely on a book.
