Bagels and Plus
243 West 38th Street
New York, NY 10018
212-997-7558
Dairy Restaurant
It's between 7th and 8th - their prices are low and their soups are delicious.
(Under Star K)
J2 is also right near Macy's.

| I'm not sure, it's possible. I've only known about this place for 3 years.

Anyone know a good bagel store or "light" restaurant type of place near Times Square / 42nd St.?
(Anonymous for a reason - please do not ask. Thanks.)

On 45th between 5th and 6th there's a place called Milk and Honey (could be that I got the name wrong) - it's fairly new and it's kind of like Circa. I've gone there a few times and liked the food. There's also Diamond Dairy on 4 west 47th street - very cheap.
My Most Favorite Dessert (on 45th between 6th and Broadway) has a Cafe that's opened during lunch hours and is cheaper than the actual restaurant. The Cafe is located on the left-hand side of the restaurant.

Actually Defy, Diamond dairy is no longer called that. It is now Cafe K, the third location for the CAfe K that's in Flatbush (Ave K , 18th Ave.)
Very good food, generous portions, even have sushi during lunch hours.

No, it's two separate places. Cafe K is located on 48th between 5th and 6th, Diamond Dairy is on 47th and it's located upstairs above a Jewelry store (unless Cafe K closed their 48th street location and moved over to Diamond Dairy's place. If so, I'm surprised none of my co-workers informed me - this would be HUGE news).

Calm down! As of the end of August it was still opened, I doubt it would close, it's always packed and it's such an icon.
ETA: Cafe K used to be called Diamante (or something like that). Around two years ago, they closed down and reopened as Cafe K. This was the restaurant where the manager was stabbed and killed by a disgruntled worker (and when it was still Diamante, my friend ran into one of the Sopranos there!)

| Ah, it was Diamante! Sorry, Defy, my mistake! Mixed up the two places.
