I know there are so many great recipes for everything out here, but there are so many, I dont have time to look throught it all. if anyone has any dinner menus, please share. I HATE cooking with a passion. just not my thing. dinners are very stressful for me every day. anyways, I dont mind baking/cooking for long, but prep time should be short. my oven in parev, so no baking fleishig. and I prefer less fleishig anyways. any help would be great

I always serve fresh cut veggies - baby carrots, grape tomatoes, fresh pepper strips, cucumber slices, celery sticks, etc. You can make a bunch every 2-3 days and keep in the fridge. If my DH and I want salad, we just used bagged lettuce and take veggies from the plate. If you really want to get fancy, chummus is a good protein and kids love to dip.

figure you need 3 things at each meal:
- protein
- starch/carb
- vegetable

Pick and choose from each group:

Proteins (all the meat can be done on the stove top or in a crockpot):
- hot dogs
- shnitzel
- hamburgers
- meatballs (easy in the crockpot)
- any number of chicken in the crockpot recipes
- cold cut sandwiches
- poached chicken breasts
- meat sauce (and pasta or rice)
- tacos!
- sloppy joes
- chicken soup with chicken dumplings
- vegetable soup

- macaroni & cheese
- grilled cheese
- quesadillas
- cream of _____ soup
- strawberries and cream
- lasagna!
- baked ziti
- blintzes
- "breakfast for dinner" eggs, cereal, oatmeal
- yougurt "parfaits" (plain yogurt layered in a clear glass with assorted fruits- the kids like to make it themselves)

- falafel (kids love make your own pita)
- fish sticks
- any number of baked fish
- poached fish
- broiled fish
- PB&J sandwiches
- Tuna in all it's forms: salad, sandwiches, croquettes, melts, etc.
- eggs...

Starches/Carbs:
- sandwiches
- rice (brown, white, jasmine, pilaf, etc.)
- Potatoes (so many ways: french fries, mashed, boiled with butter/margarine and spices, roasted, baked...)
- Sweet Potatoes
- fresh corn on the cob! (my kids love it!)
- quinoa
- millet
- wheatberries
- squash
- couscous
- pasta in all it's myriad of forms
- bread
- bulgur
- kasha
- pancakes or french toast

Vegetables:
- Vegetable soups, there are TONS out there
- frozen bagged veggies like broccoli, spinach, etc.
- sugar snap peas
- carrots
- broiled tomatoes (with cheese and fresh basil yum!)
- asparagus
- the sky's the limit here really
- veggie burgers
-minestrone soup

One of our favorite meals around here is:
cut veggies
macaroni and cheese
falafel balls (we serve it with the mac and cheese)
veggie burgers
yougurt parfaits for dessert

Wow, AidelMaidel! Thanks for that great list. I do love to cook, but am trying to get on track with a month's worth of dinner and Shabbos menus at a time and your list is so well-organized for that!

Question for you: would you share your meatball recipe?

You should note that Quinoa is a protein (I just learned this myself)

My meatball recipe is from Spice and spirit - it's the one with the grated onion, on the top of the page on the left side - I could look up the specific recipe from spice and spirit when I get home.

Even though the recipe calls for sweet and sour sauce, I just make them plain because my kids don't like "sauces". Sauces are on the side for me and DH.
