| We live in Brooklyn. I am returning to work soon and hiring a babysitter to take care of kids in my house. What is the going rate right now? she will be taking care of one child for few hours till my others get home. I will also need her to do some light work around the house - laundry folding, some cooking (she is shomer mitzvos)

| Most charge $10, and some will include light housework.

| I keep on hearing $11 and even $12. $10 would be nice

| the light housework referred to for ten dollars per hr. Is usually really light, some dishes and making beds. If someone is gonna cook for you, twelve sounds very reasonable.
