I was breastfeeding, but due to a sudden medical condition (my own), I need to switch to formula. I'm on WIC but already spent part of this month's check. Will they still give formula or should I just wait until next month?

Also, how much formula do they give (is it enough or will I need to buy anyway)?

Thanx.

ive never actually used formula but im pretty sure you have to wait until the next time you pick up checks - I dont think theyll reissue different ones. I remember by one of my kids, she was prob around 6mo the nutritionist asked me if im sure I want checks for 3 mo - if ill last that long without giving formula.

Pickle Lady, was that enough for the whole month or did you need to buy more?

Wic gives 7 cans per month.
If the baby is only bottle feeding you will probably need to buy more. Exactly how much more you will need to experiment.
Once the baby starts eating solids 7 cans should be enough.

They will change checks mid month I have done it when my baby got switched from milk to hypoallergenic formula. As far as amounts depends on the formula you are requesting and on your baby it doesn't always give enough but does get you thru more than half a month
