Any volunteer opportunities out there???

Anyone know of something I can do as I have free time on my hands and I am looking for some ideas. I know there are organizations out there but I don't know where I could volunteer. I live in NJ.

in england we have something called the jewish volunteering network, it is really good and lists loads of volunteering opportunities for people all around the country all areas, maybe you have something like that there? if not you could contact a shul, a school, a care home for the elderly, any charity organisation that works on behalf of the elderly, the needy etc will always welcome volunteers in some role whether it's befriending people, behind the desk, anything

I am not sure if you'd like it to be in an exclusively frum environment.

Hospitals usually need volunteers, you can volunteer at the reception, you can help patients ( bikur cholim type of thing) and their families help them through the system. Every hospital has a volunteer chapter, call the hospital or go on their website.
Also if the american red cross is close to you you can volunteer in blood drives...again all depends on how comfortable you feel hashkafically about this.
