Strawberry apple kugel

I took a look in a grocery store today, and I found strawberry rhubarb pie filling, but not plain strawberry. Is it possible to use strawberry jam or strawberry preserves instead. Or fresh strawberries?

I think pie filling works the best - it's already gelled, and it adds to the sweetness and consistency of the recipe. I think it would be hard to replicate with preserves or whole strawberries, fresh or frozen.

That said, I have made it with strawberry, cherry, and blueberry pie fillings. I think we liked the strawberry one best, with cherry a close second.

I have also used gala apples every time, and I don't see much difference.

This is a great recipe. I made it for RH with the strawberry pie filling. For shabbos, I made it with the blueberry pie filling. This is an easy recipe and delish!
