If we have a daughter, we're thinking we might like to name her Noa. My DH keeps talking about naming her "Achinoam" and then calling her "Noa", but I'm wondering if it would be OK to just name her Noa and forgo the Achinoam.
Thoughts?

Either way. Noa is very overused. Achinoam is beautiful.

Achnoam sounds like a boy, or maybe even two boys.
Noa is a popular girl's name! My kids wanted it for my youngest.

There isn't a single "Noa" in our entire community, so I'm not concerned about it being overused.

| Noa is a name from the Tanach she was one of Bnot Tzlofchad's daughters, in the tanac it's spelled Nun, Ayin, Hey. In Hebrew I have heard of people who spell it with a vav and say it stands for Nissim Veneflaot Asa Hashem.

Noa means movement. Tenuot are movements. A manoa is a motor. Na vanad means wandering.

| Interestingly I have a friend who was hesitating between those very two names. They went to ask a Rov who advised they name the baby Noa since it is in Chumash.
