In your opinion, what is the best most effective parenting book out there?

I can't really remember. They all seem to have gone in one ear and out the other. The only thing that ever really stayed with me was something I read once about instead of hitting your children or punishing them, just wait because kids always want something and when they do that's the time to tell them no. You can either say "No, because when I asked you to do a,b, or c you didn't do it" or "No, not until you do a, b, or c". I have found this to be very effective.

123 magic heard is also very good.

I will second the book how to listen... I liked it a lot since it had many different ideas in the book. I did not find 123 magic to be helpful.
