Which direction to sleep?

ok not really a halachic question - but don't know where else to put it.
which direction are you supposed to go to sleep - head or feet facing the door?

That's because they take the dead out of the door feet first. So it's a custom but also a superstition like the business of not sewing something on a live person's body unless they have a piece of thread in their mouth. In any case if you have no choice on the direction of the bed then there are two possibilities. either with the head towards the door even if the feet are at the wall at the bottom or that the door shouldn't be directly across from the bed but on the side, meaning not mamash at the foot of the bed.

That's strange, I was going to say that one should not sleep with their HEAD facing the doorway!

FS, why do you call the sewing/thread superstition and not this direction of sleep idea? It's for the same reason- they sew the shrouds on the dead person, and that is why we don't sew clothes that are on a live person, unless they actively do something 'live'. (don't know if it HAS to be chewing a peice of thread,,, not sure bout that, but I did hear that part as well.)

Read what I wrote, both are a superstition for the same reason but both became a sort of custom among some people. That's what I meant

Ask your rav. Because there are also different opinions which direction to put the beds (I thought that's what this thread was about) - north/south or east/west, especially for a married couple.

FS, none of them are superstitions - they are from kabbala.

It's taught in kabbalah that you should sleep with your feet facing the door.

Yes, I also know that head is opposite the door and feet towards the door.
