Would anyone be interested in this forum?

Ad nauseum, I work for a non-profit. Sometimes life working for a non-profit is difficult. I wonder if there are others who work for non-profits who would be interested in starting a board (ie, NOT on imamother) for those who work, in some capacity, for non-profits. Fundraisers, secretaries, Grant writers etc etc.

Sharing tips on how to make our non-profits better, support for those crazy, frustrating days, links to foundations, as well as connecting to help b'nei Yisroel (for instance, if your non-profit couldn't help perhaps Yad Ezra V'Shulamit could, or perhaps another non-profit might provide better help, or perhaps it will take two non-profits in order to make it work for an individual or group...

Please lmk...

I would want to keep it to Orthodox Non-Profits, but not just the women on the list or even necessarily women.

I don't know if I apply though. I work with a few different organizations (school, shul, and a few others) but it's not like I get paid... Still, I log in some serious hours...

Can it be non-denominational (like, NOT orthodox but also not anything else? just there to help any Jew in need?)

I guess non-denominational Jewish would be fine. Do you know of anyone else who would b e interested? I don't want to begin if there are just two of us.

Basically I see it as a hand in hand thing...so that not only can we help each other out in terms of finding financing, design ad campaigns etc. but we can help each others clients out.

I don't work for a non-profit, but I work exclusively with Jewish non-profits in a consultive capacity. I'd be very interested in this, particularly in the administrative side. There are lots of boards, forums, websites for fundraisers, but I haven't found many for people who are actually administering the non-profits.

I don't work for a non-profit (I work in public accounting) but non-profit taxation is a specialty area of mine. I do the tax work (990's, 990-T's, foreign filings, etc.) for about 50 tax-exempt organizations each year. I am happy to give advice or answer questions in that area (obviously only US incorporated tax-exempts have to file these forms). I don't know if I have time for a different board, though, outside of this one.

I've only worked for Jewish non-profits, but none of them were specifically Orthodox. Most were non-denominational (like the Joint).

All of what you all are talking about would be part of the forum. Basically the forum would be for grant writers, those who work or volunteer for non-profits in any capacity: Soup kitchen preparation crew, social media workers, etc. etc. And yes, advice on tax info etc Tova would be greatly appreciated.

I vision the forum as being one where we can make bnei Yisroel stronger and healthier by working together...and hopefully eventually putting us out of work!
