Being that I'm about to start my 9th month I decided it's time to feed my freezer. Any suggestions for dinners that freeze well?
so far ive come up with:
shnitzel
meatballs
potato kugel (for shabbos)
chicken soup (for shabbos)
lasagna
anyone care to add? thanks

squash soup
broccoli soup
asparagus soup
letcho
lukshen kugel
baked chicken
sesame chicken nuggets
I very often prepare turn-overs ready to bake, and put it into the freezer according to how many I'll need for one dinner. You can buy the ready squares, fill them with you favorite filling (potatoes, blended vegetables, chees, cheddar cheese, apple pie filling etc.) & freeze.

Enjoy,
B'shah Tova...

I pulled out my list of food I put in the freezer before birth, hope it helps you. I've left out the quantity of each item as I don't think you need that. Just do as many as you can. ALWAYS double (I sometimes quadruple) recipes giving you a nice stash. I personally concentrated to make one thing a week for the freezer. (make it for supper- but subsequently- make many times the recipe and freeze.)

Make sure to wrap everything VERY well. Sometimes I double ziplock, however these days I use good pans with covers- and then place in one ziplock, and it seems to do fine.

FEEL GOOD & B'Tova!!!

containers meatballs
9X13 meat lasagnas
apple kugel
carrot kugel
chix soup
ready made locksen (noodles) for chix soup= bagged in weekly portions
white rice (once I made too much, and it happened to have frozen great)
hush puppies (kosher by design recipe)
shnitzel
meat loaves
doughless potato knishes
orzo
vegetable soup
honey cakes (gave birth yom tov time)
garlic knots
apricot bars
mini chocolate cakes
chocolate chip cookies
chicken

potato kugel does NOT freeze well..... however I have in the past frozen them- wrapped and ready to be dropped into the cholent (frozen) on fridays-- and they tasted just as good as if they were baked erev shabbos and added to the cholent.

Girliesmommy, the way to freeze potato kugel is to bake it till its 3/4 done, then freeze it. When you defrost it, put it in the oven frozen without any covering on it. It tastes freshly made if you do it this way.
By the way, we always joke that the freezer is the best fed person in my house!
