I have duvet covers that I would love to clean. A couple Of them are pretty large. Can I put the blankets in the washing machine? And the dryer? I see on another thread people put pillows in the wash with tennis balls to prevent lumps so is that recommended for blankets too?

Depends on what they are made of. If its down or feather stuffed, no, if its poly filled , yes.

I would put it on a delicate cycle. You could put it in the dryer with tennis balls to keep it fluffy. I have put it in the dryer without anything and just fluffed it after by shaking it out.

not necessarily.

I think down is better washed than dry cleaned.

I just washed my down comforter in the washing machine and then let it air dry. It was just fine.

I wash my down comforters in my front loader then dry it in the dryer. Tennis balls fluff them up. I wash them a few times a year.

down comforters can only be washed in front loaders afaik. I wash it at the laundromat for that reason and I dry it with tennis balls, they come out beautifully.
