What brainless thing have u done lately?

Left my car doors open overnight - several times Sad

last night DH looked out the window at 12:30am and noticed that they were open, so went down to close them, but once they were open over the whole Shabbos.
Plus once went to sleep with the back door wide open, and once drove off with the front door wide open, got to my destination 15 minutes away, and realised had forgotten my cell. Went back to get it, and saw the door was still open.
And not me, but one time at a motorway service station, DH was driving. We all got out, used the bathroom, browsed the store, and came back. DH asks where they keys are, and turns out he had left them in the ignition! Car was off, but keys were sitting there, doors unlocked obviously.

Talking about chocolate! I had 2 pots on the fire, one with vegetable soup and in the other I was making chocolate peanut butter with cornflakes! At the end you have to add the chocolate chips! You guessed! I added the chocolate chips to the soup!! I started shrieking and my kids came running to see what happened! 'Maaaaaaa!!!!" The soup was ruined it turned a real nice brown color, but the kids still had their snack!

I can't stop laughing when I read this thread!! It is the funniest thing ever. I am so glad I am not the only brainless one.

I so often get busy with something upstairs, eg sewing, but then I need something from downstairs like a different colour thread, so I go downstairs, wonder around aimlessly trying to work out what I am doing downstairs, give up, and start something new like baking a cake. Only later on when I sit on my bed and get a jab in the tuchus from the forgotten needle, does the lightbulb go off in my head, and I remember, oh yeah, 4 hours ago I needed the thread.
So I go down again, start feeling that familiar feeling of "what the heck am I doing downstairs now, I am sure I was just upstairs to go to bed". I get so frustrated that I must have come down for something important, so I will do SOMETHING important, anything! just to make me feel better.... so I will bake a cake... with a strong feeling of deja vu. Rolling Eyes

Recently I went to the bathroom. Came out and started saying Asher Yotzar. A while later I realize that I am still standing outside the bathroom muttering something and I start getting alarmed that Asher Yotzar is taking a long time. So I concentrate on what I am saying... and I realize I am bentching "Hazon".

Used my key to open the car door, then couldn't find it (seconds later) when I wanted to start the car! Turns out I dropped it when I put down the bag I was carrying.

This summer I worked as the assistant coordinator running 4 different day camps.
We had a van that we used for driving from one camp to another.
I was so tired one day that I drove to one of the camps, got out of the van, went in to drop something off and then got back into the van, on the passenger side!
I sat there for a second thinking, hey, wheres the steering wheel?

After making hot coffee one morning, instead of opening the fridge and putting the milk away, I opened up the freezer and put my coffee inside.

I brought home my sisters deodorant and body wash instead of my laptop plug. hubby wasn't happy. sister wasn't happy. I took a good shower tho.

I took dd's sippy cup out of the drainboard along with the cover and spill proof valve. I filled the cup and covered it. 10 minutes later I found it tipped over on the table with milk all around. I forgot to put in the valve. So I clean up the mess, refill the cup and go to give it to dd. As I start to hand it to her it starts leaking-I forgot to put the valve in-AGAIN!

early one friday morning, before I should have been awake, I was making my challah while drinking a coffee. I poured milk into my coffee, took a sip, then filled the measuring cup with lukewarm water for the yeast. both cups were next to each other, my coffee and the water. I opened up the yeast packets and poured them right into my coffee. I didn't even realize until I started mixing it with the mixing spoon. the yeast and water looked so strange, it took me a moment to realize it was my coffee! now I make sure to finish my coffee before I start my challah...

Not a brainless story, just a funny one.
I went to my neighbor to borrow peppers. He asked me what size I needed and I told him any size is fine. He looked at me real strange. He told me he has a few sizes so I may as well tell him wich size I want. I told him really any size is fine. He looked really confused when he went in to get what I asked for. He came back with 3 different size PAMPERS. He had thought the whole time I wanted pampers and he thought I was so strange for not specifying a size. My family couldn't stop laughing. His wife told me the next day that he was so embarrased but they also couldn't stop laughing the whole night about it.

I washed the blender and then needed to puree some more sweet potato. So I put the top on the base, put in the sweet potato and turned it on. The sweet potato started flying everywhere and the machine started making some funny noises.
I had forgotten to attach the bottom of the part where you put the food in.

That was the end of my blender.

drink my boiling hot coffee without milk. I like my coffee with a little whip on the top for a foamy taste. and I forget to put in milk first.
Can anyone explain to me how food tastes without a burnt tongue?

and then there are the little everyday stuff. go into the shower and use body was instead of shampoo. or shampoo instead of facial soap.

lock the door handle when going into the toilet (that doubles as a wash room) to put a load of laundry and closing the door when leaving.

saying right when I mean left and left when I mean right. imagine giving your husband directions in the car. - its keep right. are you sure I have to go right? no. yes. I mean your side. ok. for the record that's LEFT so for now, its my side and your side.

applying underarm deodorant cream instead of moisturizer

I used to go walking/jogging every day after work so I took along my running shoes to work. I changed and I'm doing it in the morning but I find myself more often then not on my way to work with a bad and my shoes in it!

this one is DH. not me. but it gives me my daily dose of morning laughter. I told him that I'm starting to think he's doing it on purpose. - in the morning, I hear when DH dropps the soap bar EVERY SINGLE day in the shower. for some reason it ALWAYS slips of his hands.

there are lots more that I'm too embarrassed to say. its good to know that I'm not the only brainless one out here. although I'm probably the most brainless of all! lol
