| I recently accepted a job which requires me to do some driving. Rather than providing me with a car, the company is going to reimburse me for mileage and gas. Does anyone know what the rate in nyc is? (They know I've never done this before and I want to make sure they don't take advantage of me by giving me a low rate.)

| In NJ in the school I work at, they pay 31 cents per mile

| At my job they reimburse at the IRS rate (which is the rate you can use to deduct business expenses). Lately I think it's been 55 cents per mile.

I don't live in NYC - but my company goes by the IRS rate as well.
It is currently 50 cents.
