K9 filter issues

Is there anyone familiar with the K9 filter? Recently I keep on getting error screens when I try to open a new page, tab, or just refreshing my page.
...K9 Web Protection was unable to communicate with the Blue Coat Service Points.

K9 Web Protection needs to access the Internet in order to get a rating for Web sites. Although K9 is able to access the Internet at this time, it appears that the Blue Coat Service Points are unavailable. Please wait and try again later. You can also disable K9 to access the Internet, but you will *NOT* be filtered.

Any troubleshooting advice? The only option available is to override in "supervisor mode" but even then I don't always get the full "override time" I selected before it blocks my internet again.

Please advise because I am going nuts!!

I had this a lot when it clashed with my anti-virus (ESET, which wasn't free) - on the advice of my IT guy at work, I switched to AVG free anti-virus and the problem is solved. Very Happy
