Bored 6 month old

I feel like my 6 month old son is bored. (hes my first) I put him on the floor to play. in his swing, in his crib- and I dont know what else to do with him. I read with him books sometimes.. but I feel like im being mean just letting him sit on the floor himself (he doesnt actually even sit yet) and playing. I feel like hes bored. what are ideas I can do with him? im a SAHM so I have time to do things with him.. or maybe hes really fine...? and its waaaaaaaaaaaay to hot to go outside!!

More likely that YOU'RE bored. If you want, take him on errands with you. Or just go for a walk in a large, air conditioned place (a mall?). Honestly, though, this is a great age to get them used to playing on their own. The whole world is interesting to them - if he was bored, he'd tell you! (by kvetching, crying)

And definitely keep reading to him, if he likes it. Get some books out from the library for him if you get bored of the same old books.

oh im not bored.. I just look at him and think hes bored. but I guess its normal. and I cant actually get to a mall.. I live in israel. its to hot to walk outside rite now...

From my experience, babies usually let you know when they're bored (loud and clear Laughing

). First, do you play WITH him? Put on music, dance around, let him watch you do household chores, and do silly things with toys. Do you think he needs more stimulation? It's normal for people- babies included- to feel claustrophobic being at home all day. If you can even just walk to the makolet around the corner and see new people, that would help. Are there any other families around with kids his age? Make playdates- I know he's too young to play with other kids, but it's good for him to have exposure to them anyway, and they'll have new toys too.

If he isn't complaining he is probably fine like everyone else said. However, I have different toys stashed in every room of my house even in the laundry room. As I go about my chores I just move him from room to room with me. A small room to you is a whole other world to a baby. This should keep him happy while you are getting stuff done. I also have 2 sets of toys in the kitchen so if he gets bored say in the middle of shabbos cooking just switch the toys and their you go!

I sometimes sing finger songs and do th emotions sort of on him - he loves that! I just did"row-row-your boat" with him on my lap and rocking back and forth. He loves that too.
Cups, small bottles are great. So is a clear plastic bottle with some water in it fascinating, especially if he can sort of move with it!
