You know your children are growing up when they stop asking you where they came from and refuse to tell you where they are going

maybe shes going through changes- new class, new teacher, new things to get used to and these accidents will pass with time.

I have a daughter that is almost three. I trained her not too long ago. B"H she is really very good about it and almost never had any accidents, until she started playgroup 2 weeks ago. She suddenly started having accidents very often. Then I realized that she is still getting used to a different bathroom, and a whole different setting. Hopefully, over time, the accidents will stop.

it will pass. my oldest was trained at 2 and abit, she did great until she was three when we even had to send her to school in pullups. almost as though she didn't care that she was wet. during that time we moved, and I had a baby. when my second was almost 3 we trained both girlss at the same time. and we've never had a problem. proudmom, your girl has gone to a new school, she has a baby sister- these things happen. don't make a big deal, send her in pullups and she'll grow out of it in a few weeks-months.

Proudmom, my three year old just started doing the same thing as your daughter. It's so weird. I think it's b/c she's concentrating so much on what she is doing. I asked her all day today if she had to go and of course she said no. She pished in her tights and underwear in the bathroom. I told her that I don't have any clean underwear (not true) and that she would have to wear that until I cleaned more for her. I told her I can't figure out another way to get her to learn when to go the bathroom. I told her maybe it will her remember when to go. We shall see. How is your daughter doing?

Bh my daughter is much better about it. When she is very involved in playing she will forget to use the bathroom. For example this passed shabbos it happened. She did it 3 times in a row within 5 minutes. It drove me nuts. I didnt even know what to tell her at that point. I told her the first time that only babies make in their underwear. Still didnt help. I just hope that it will pass.

It happens to my daughter too, when she gets very into her game. I don't think threats and punishments are appropriate. She feels bad about it as it is. She just needs more encouragement. She'll grow out of it eventually!

proudmom--This is probably just a stage where she is concentrating too much as you said, but I'd also check for a urinary tract infection which can show up only in incontinence.

why do you put a diaper on when you leave the house? I used to do it too and then I relized that she will just pee in it no matter what. My daugher is 3 years old, and the only time I put a diaper on her if we are going on a very long trip where there wont be any bathrooms in site. If I would go shopping with her where I know that there will be bathrooms I dont even bother puting on a diaper on her because she will just pee in it.

do you ask her when you are out if she has to go to the bathroom?

not necessarily. frequency or urgency can be the only symptoms and if she has urgency she may not be able to make it to the bathroom.

I only put on a diaper when I am going shopping where there is no toilets around. also I take with a extra pamper and most of the time I have to put it on in middle of the street.!!!!
I think it more tzunus to just put it on at home and it is less headache heartache. when I manage to go out with 4 kids I just want to enjoy my little outings and not have to worry that she will not make it in time. or worse having her pants dress wet
