DD age 3.5 is having a difficult adjustment period in gan. I expected it, but I dont know how to handle it.

she has wild tantrums, teases my other kid, acts out constantly. cries hysterically out of nowhere and whines all day. the times I cant handle it are mornings and middle of the nights. I feel horrible that initially I forgot that this was the reason she became so angry, and I didnt understand why. someone reminded me, and I feel bad that I havent been doing my best to make the adjustment much smoother.

she actually is so excited in the morning before we go, and we hit a few feet before the entrance, she stops and says she wants to go home, she doesnt want to go.

I need some ideas how I can make it easier for her, and how I can tolerate and cope with her tantrums and her not acting herself, until she gets more comfortable in the gan surroundings.

In my experience, this isn't a typical "child adjustment period" moment. Something else is going on, IMO.

my nephew is acting the same, same gan. I see a few of the anglo kids crying outside that they dont want to go.

the teachers speak to her in broken english to help her, they hug her, she actually seems fine once shes there. and plays, I walked by once, watched her from afar, she was playing alone with her mouth sealed shut.... she doesnt understand.... she did tell me her teacher let her play while they sang bc she didnt know the words which I was happy that her teacher was understanding. but I gotta deal with her behavior and as far as I am aware of - theres no more other then this going on.

Hello there,

I saw that noone answered this thread lately, but hopefully you can give me some chizuk...
We are in the adjustment phase to gan right now. Our son is 20 months old, usually very social, independent,...
We started gan 2 weeks ago, and the teachers only let me go out for about 15 min and then I have to come back in. He always screams for a while and then calms down, but as he's calming down; I'm already on my way back, so this system seems illogical to me, no? We are also only allowed to stay a whole of 2 hours in the mornings.
Shabbos he got sick, so he was out of gan for about 5 days. Today we went back and he was crying there most of the time even though I was there, and even on the way back home, he kept crying. Now, he went to sleep, he was exhausted...

I'm so frustrated, worked up and tired from all of this (might also be the hormones,..I'm B"H pregnant), and I just want it to work...

Maybe you have some ideas, how I can make it easier on all of us. I get the impression that the teachers consider my son already a problem child....
