| So I started off using my own not-too-shabby excel skills to track my expenses and such, but being that I'm no finance expert I'm starting to think it would be more helpful to just use something set up by someone who really knows what they're doing. Any suggestions of a program I can download or purchase, or suggestions of how to set up a more useful spreadsheet?

Oh I'd also love something good. Signing onto your thread to watch.
TwinsMommy once mentioned the coolest program but she also said, I think, that it's because of her job that she has it. Sigh... _________________ Life is not about who you can stand on top of, but who you can lift up!

| I basically went from financial ignorance to total independence and being the primary financial manager of my family. So I started by just doing what I was used to, being careful (I was never a big spender or anything. Just used to be frugal on my parents' credit card...) and recording EVERYTHING. So now I have a few months' worth of data stashed up and trying to figure out how to make heads or tails of it. It's hard to just figure out average needs/expenses because every month has been different - one moth has a lot of yom tov, one month had a lot of simchas, one month had a lot of unforeseen unpaid time off work...!!! Last month particularly was heavy on expenses and low on income. Looking at it all on my spreadsheets is what really made me think maybe there is a better system...

| I've been budgeting since before I was 16 for myself, and later the family. I still want a program though that is more organized. I need that motivation of a program I think...we'll see lol.
