I usually use oil instead of margarine but the texture is not the same. I want to try my rugelach recipe using palm oil shortening, how much equals 3 sticks margarine

Palm oil shortening is not any healthier than margarine...if you're doing it for health benefits.

However, the replacement value is 1:1, so 3 sticks of margarine is however many oz; use the same amount of shortening.

mamaleh is right. Use 1-1/2 cups shortening instead of 3 sticks of margarine.
Marion is also correct. Shortening is not healthier than margarine.

I heard its healthier. This is what the container reads: 0% trans fat. 0% cholesterol. Good source of Vitamin e. 32% Monounsaturated fats which is a healthy fat. Now, What makes this as unhealthy as hoMarg. Also look at the ingr in marg and this says just, Pure and Natural Palm oil shortening

It doesn't have trans fat, so in my book it is a step healthier than margarine.
