What do you think of this for an end of year gift for Teachers?

http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=13653801

is it too odd, I find it a great kitchen untensil.
Please let me know what you think; yay or nay

That is my favorite kitchen utensil too--except for that it's nearly impossible for me to clean it well.

I say, go for it!

I've never seen one, and I don't honestly think I would be happy to receive one as a gift. I guess people who cook a lot would appreciate it.

I think it's a great idea. I love mine! Maybe I'll do this too. Just make sure you get a gift receipt in case they don't want it or have one already.

I had a similar but slightly different onion chopper. It never cut the onion properly and real pain try to clean the part with a blade. To be honest, I prefer to rely on my good ol' knife and cutting board.

I think it's a gr8 idea! But I think better to get the updated one:
http://www.amazon.com/Progress.....amp;sr=1-2

They actually had it on amazon as a Buy3 get1Free deal b4 pesach. I bought then.
I give them to my Pesach Hostess and even for a babygift to someone who was suddenly making her first pesach.
Anyone I've given 1 to really loves it.

BTW, a big advantage to the updated model: it comes with a storage case - it's gr8 for SOAKING the grates!

I used to have one of these and the blade went blunt after a while and didn't do such a good job...eventually I got the Williams Sonoma Measure and Chop and I love it. It comes with two blade sizes so you can make teeny tiny Israeli Salad or bigger pieces, like for Hash Brown Potatoes. I do lots of salads in there, and I love it!

this one that I bought also does 2 sizes of chopping, plus it slices.
And I really have a feeling that William Sonoma has it made by Progressive. I just got the tall slicer and the way the contraption is, it seems very much like the same creator as W.S.

I think you have to know the teacher. As a teacher, I would think it's a little interesting/weird though I'd appreciate the thoughtfulness of the gift. But if you're friendly with the teacher, know she's a balabusta or something, then I could see it being a lot cuter/nicer. It certainly is more practical than what I've been getting (thank you notes, mugs, fancy diaries...?!)
