When filing my taxes this year, my accountant asked me if I paid childcare. I did not.
This current year I am IM"H sending my daughter to a babysitter in her house.
I don't believe she's licensed.
Can I claim childcare expenses when filing taxes?
How does this work?

| You can claim childcare even if it's not licensed, including teenage babysitters if it seems a worthwhile amount. As CM said, you need the person's SS number and address. And if you pay them over a certain amount (I think $2000), they should also be filing as self employed. Nothing to do with you, but it might help the babysitter avoid certain problems with their own taxes.
