TIA,
I would like a layered salad recipe - any variety, but also the kind with frozen peas.
Please don't tell me to search, the only thread is one that I wrote myself 2 years ago and has nothing.

Unfortunately, I can't find my picture of this salad - it was probably on my old computer which crashed!
Trifle Salad
Layer any of the following vegetables in a footed glass bowl. After the bowl is filled about ¾ of the way with vegetables, put a red pepper that was hollowed out in the middle and fill it with the salad dressing. Continue layering the remaining vegetables around the pepper until the bowl is completely filled.
Frozen peas Canned chickpeas
Shredded Purple Cabbage Canned Corn
Thinly sliced carrots Sliced cucumbers
Chopped coloured peppers Shredded iceberg lettuce
Grape tomatoes, halved
Dressing:
½ cup mayonnaise 3 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
2 tsp. mixed Italian seasoning
Mix well.

Can I ask a stupid question here?
Why do you need a recipe? Why not use whatever you usually use to make a green salad but instead of making it tossed, you layer it?
Or is 'salad' more of a vegetable side dish type of thing and not fresh veggies?

thanks guys,
because I have had layered salads over the years and they've been good, but with ingredients I wouldn't normally put together, and yet they were good and different.

Thanks, it looks beautiful.
I can't do nuts or pesto, what kind of dressing can I use? Or, can I use spinach dip instead of the pesto? It's green

Here is the recipe that I use:
Layer in a trifle or glass bowl:
Purple cabbage
shredded carrots
red pepper
can of corn
cucumber
frozen green peas, thawed
Top with a bottle of cole slaw dressing.
