Taste of Chitas 28 Adar
Reflection on Tanya:Since Torah is the Ultimate expression of G-d's Will and Wisdom, learning its precepts creates total unity with Hashem to the extent that even one's character traits can be completely transformed into holiness.
Chumash: Vayikro 1:1 1. And He called to Moses, and the Lord spoke to him from the Tent of Meeting, saying, Rashi Summary: When G-d speaks to Moshe, it is always with affection by calling Moshe by name. To the prophets of the nation, it is indirect, like meeting them by coincidence, as in "And G-d happened to meet Bilaam." The affection with which G-d addresses Moshe implies purity while the coincidental nature with which G-d speaks to prophets of the nations implies impurity. And He Called to Moshe. The voice of G-d reached the ears of Moshe but not to the rest of Israel. Why does G-d call Moshe again and again? Is he calling him anew? The reason for the repetition is that he is giving Moshe a chance to pause and contemplate between one part of the prophecy and the next. What can we learn from this? In our Torah study, we should periodically stop and absorb one passage before moving on to the next.
Tehillim: 136:12 With a Strong hand and with an outstretched arm..When -d took them out of Egypt, He did with a strong hand and mighty arm so we left with pride and didn't run away like slaves (Metzudas Dovid)
Rambam Summary of Sefer haMitzvos: Positive commandment 199: Making Collateral Available to a Debtor when needed. As the sun sets, you shall surely return the pledge to him"—Deuteronomy 24:13. One must not withold the collateral provided by a debtor to a creditor if he is poor and needs to use the item, but it should be returned to him. An item used at night should be returned every night and an item used in the day should be returned by day; "He must return the pillow at night and the plow for the day."
Negative Commandment 240 Witholding the Collateral from a Debtor When Needed You shall not sleep while holding his security"—Deuteronomy 24:12. for the explanation, see the mitzva described above.
HaYomYom: In the sh'ma before retiring (p. 118): On Shabbat and Festivals we do not say Ribono shel olam or lam'natzei'ach (p. 122). But we do say them on other days that tachanun is not said. After the three paragraphs of sh'ma (p. 120), add the word "emet." Ya'alzu is said once. Hinei and y'varech'cha are said three times. In tikun chatzot do not say lam'natzei'ach...b'vo on days tachanun is omitted.
We do recite the Harachaman of brit mila (p. 95).
(From a sicha at a brit mila repast): At a brit mila we say, "Just as he has entered into the Covenant so may he enter into Torah, into marriage and into good deeds" (p. 141). It is our custom to make an advance payment on tuition fees for the boy's studies. (Here the Rebbe gave a sum of money and said): This is for the Yeshiva.
