So I have what might be a dumb question.
My kids will be starting school next year so I have applications to fill out. We cannot afford full tuition - both DH and I work for non-profits (mine is secular, he works for one of the schools in our community). I know when it comes to financial aid, questions are asked regarding vacations and renovations, but what about buying a house? Right now, we rent, but eventually, we want to buy a house, but I feel like any money we'd want to save/inherit/harvest from our miraculous money tree for a house, we'd be required to use for tuition...

| OP here - I forgot to mention that I'm not in NY, but the community I live in isn't exactly a low cost of living area either...

| I also worked in non profit for many years. I took a job in the pruivate sector to be able to afford tuition ANd a home.
