| Doesn't pay to ruin your stomach over it even if it smells fine. If you would've kept it in the freezer, you'd be able to eat it without a problem.

| I would, I could, I have, and I do! Of course you heat it to boiling and let it simmer for 10 minutes or so before serving, but who would eat cold cholent, anyway? It does depend on how cold your fridge is, though...the colder the better.

I just had meaty cholent from last shabbat for dinner last night. My stomach didn't complain. Just make sure it was covered properly in the fridge and you heat it very throughly.
Guess what we're having tonight? Cholent soup (spiced up with tinned tomato) from parve cholent last week.

If this is a big concern it would have been eaten long before now, no?
Personally I'd be scared to eat it a week later.

Cholent hot,
Cholent cold
Cholent in a pot
Five days old.
Some like it hot,
Some like it mild,
Some like it not at all
And some go wild.
Some make it soupy,
Some make it thick
Some make it goopy,
Some like a brick.
Some throw it out
Before it's even cool
Some think to eat it fresh
Proves you're a fool.
Some serve no cholent
Before its time
Age improves a cholent
Just like a wine.
A cholent's second coming
Is better is better than the first
No, I'm not funning
A cholent must be nursed
The longer it stands
The better it gets
And added to the next week's
Is simply the best!

No. Cooked meat in a fridge shouldn't be eaten IMO after 2-3 days. _________________ Live the life you want to live. Be the person you want to remember. Make decisions. Make mistakes. If you failed, at least you tried.

All good reasons, but having managed to get food poisoning with some frequency (I have a more sensitive stomach than my family, or something) (and, no, not from my own cooking thankyouverymuch!) I would still steer clear of it. I don't know how people cope with serious illness, because I honest to goodness want to die when I've got food poisoning or a stomach bug.
DH, on the other hand, is a "cut off the funny looking bits and eat the rest" kind of guy, and he's never sick. Go figure.

What's the difference between a Yeshiva bochur and a yungerman?
A yeshiva bochur eats cholent Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Shabbos. A yungerman eat cholent Shabbos, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
