I put two recipes together for this past shabbos and the result was decadent and very very easy to make (and it freezes very well)
Make your favorite brownie reicpe. I do
3/4 c. oil
3/4 c cocoa
1 1/4 c flour
2 1/2 c sugar
5 eggs
mix together well and pour into a lined 9x13 pan.
part two:
mix together
3 eggs
2 toffuti cream cheese (make sure it is plain)
1 c. sugar.
pour carefully on top of brownies.
bake at 350 for an hour to an hour and a quarter (top of cheese cake should be slightly golden). The bottom brownie layer stays very moist, almost gooey and served on a bed of blended up berries it is delicious and pretty.
Enjoy!

Is there a way to prebake the brownies a little so that the brownies are not that gooey?

Lovesshoes I am sure you can bake the brownie part for ten minutes while you quickly mix up the cheesecake part and then pour it on top. The moist brownie was our favorite part!
Enjoy everyone!

My Rami Levi carries it...but it's not so cheap (18NIS/container...that's the same price for either the large OR small ones). I'm sure some of the supermarkets geared more towards Americans might have it too (CheaperKol, SuperDeal, maybe Super haMoshava).

for the person who was concerned about the brownie being gooey- this is essentially a recipe for a cake version of "black bottoms" which are traditionally made in cupcake pans. If made in a cupcake then the brownie will bake faster and be less gooey.

I live in NY. How much is Tofutti CC? I never really thought much about it. I make pareve cheesecake using 2 of them every so often.
I think I'll make this for Shabbos- sounds yummy!

shopaholic, Tofutti CC is a local product for you. Here in England it costs about £3 something (more than $5) a tub. I used to make a parev cheesecake recipe that used 3 tubs (from the Binah Shavuos edition 2 years ago - really good!) but I stopped b/c it was getting too expensive. (it also used a bar of parev rosemarie chocolate - that was another £1.89...)
Thanks for the recipe - I'll try it!

In Baltimore, 7 Mile Market sells pareve cream cheese that's storemade and cheaper than Tofutti. Maybe stores in NY or Lakewood do that too?

chocolate fondue - since people were complaining about the price (not that anyone is forcing you to make it BTW ) but not saying where they live, I decided to say how much it costs here in case those complaining were from NY like me
