I was giving my baby a bath and he turned his head and drank the bath water, is that bad?
I don't have to go to the doctor or anything right?

I just really hope he didn't make in the water or anything.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? They're just so slippery in the water it's hard to keep them still!

He had lots of burps after I took him out, but besides that I think he's o.k, he just coughed and looked surprised!

ummm, yes, my kids (deliberately!) drink their bathwater ("coffee") all the time, and they are still walking around bh. my mother in law calls all these "extras" going into their mouths vitamin d (for dirt). I know Puke but I dont think its necessary to call the dr or anything...

I wouldn't worry too much. my 22 mos. dd drinks the bath water every time I bathe her... besides even though it looks like she drank alot she probably didn't get that much of the water in anyway

This should be the worst thing your baby ever inserts into mouth.

Unless you are Miss Lucy and your son is Tiny Tim, everyone should be fine.

Maybe you should add some bouillon cubes to the bath, make it extra tasty!

Okay, this reminds me of a funny story that was not funny at the time it happened!
When my boys were little I used to give them baths together, one of their fun bathtime activities was drinking the bath water. I used to tell them not to do it or they'd get sick and throw up, which of course they never did. One day I gave my son a bath in the morning before kindergarten, and when I was washing the shampoo off his hair I accidentally spilled some water onto his face which he swallowed.
Later that day I got a call from his morah to come pick him up at school, he had a stomach virus and had thrown up. I picked him up and brought him home.
When he was better and I brought him to school, his teacher took me aside and said, "I just wanted to let you know that when your son threw up, he said that the reason he threw up was because his mommy made him drink bath water!" Shocked
Of course I figured out right away why he had said that and explained it to her and we all had a good laugh.
But can you imagine if this had happened in a public school, or had been an inexperienced, "suspicious" teacher who had called Children's Services and "told" on me? Can you imagine a knock at your door and social workers coming to interview the abusive mother who forced her child to drink bath water?

Mommy F., you’re baby will be tall and skinny because the earlier they learn to drink water, the better it is for weight loss!

If every kid that drank bath water were to run to the dr., then all dr.s would live in huge mansions next to the guys who own the oil companies. He's one hundred percent fine.

Ds loves to play with a plastic cup in the bath. He fills it with water and pours water all over himself. He always makes sure to give himself a drink too. Once I filled the bath water too high so he was able to bend down and drink like a horse. He was laughing the whole time.

This reminds me of how my parents tell me the story of my own babyhood...
Apparently, because I was their first child, they diligently sterilized EVERYTHING I came into contact with. It took them forever to prepare bottles and stuff. Then one day my father found me sitting at the foot of my stroller sucking on the muddy wheel with a big smile on my face. That was the last time they sterilized anything! I lived!

My toddler seems fine after drinking TONS of bathwater in his lifetime already. He always needs something in his mouth. So already at 4 months he would take a cloth I was washing him with and squeeze it out in his mouth....
If you live in NYC, think of it as a good thing because it means he's getting some flouride Very Happy
