To Bubbys or Parents of teens................

Truthfully have you ever not patched your kid and if so please tell us u'r secret.
Personally I too don't believe in it but I have resorted to it once in awhile, on the hand or the back of the tush.

On rare occasions I did. But generally not. It really doesn't work & I believe it encourages violence. I used to find a meaningful punishment depending on the "crime." But it was all so long ago I don't remember too many details. The time-out is a good one, but sometimes that's not enough. Removing a privilege like computer time works well.

Don't worry if you occasionally lose it give a swift potch. Chances are the kid deserved it, & more Wink

Now my kids are bigger than I, so I'd have to stand on a box if I want to give a slap Rolling Laughter

But they move faster, too!

the sayin " spare the rod and spoil the child " only refers to children. According to halacha once they are bar and bas Mitzva hand are to be totally off Very Happy

So thus far you admit that there has been a once or twice u've patched. Lets see now I can count on my hand alone how many times I was patched. But are there any parnets on here who have not.
