Custom Wedding Gown

I know a girl who is looking to have a wedding gown made. She knows that there is absolutely no way she will be able to find "the gown of her dreams" in any store, gemach, website, etc as it is very unique. She also says that IYH after the chasuna she will rent it out. Now the question is, does anyone know of anyone in the NY area (but can also be in surrounding states) or even no where near NY (as long as she could mail them the drawing, measurements, etc) but she prefers NY that makes good gowns at a reasonable price. Please respond with numbers and names and about how much they think the person will charge (yes, this is difficult b/c I know it varies with the different styles, but your guesstament). Thanks!

What size is she?...my DD's fabulous, elegant gown was custom designed & made & maybe she will want hers. If not, she should contact Marcel St. Bernard who made the gown...she's done all our wedding gowns & I definitely recommend her! 718 212 8617. BTW, I paid $1000 inc fabric...5 years before I rented from a gemach for $1100!

Wow 1000 including fabric is an AMAZING deal. I will pass the number on to her. She's looking for a specific style which no one has done before - I mean she calle deverywhere, goyishe places, yiddishe places, asked all around, but if she changes her mind in the future I believe she is a size 2. Thank you!

I would suggest checking out david bridals, most of the gowns are sleevless, but if you have a good seamstress can be built up, I did this last year for BIL's wedding and did really well there. It will also give her a lot of ideas.

I had a dress custom done 2 years ago, I spent nearly 1000, and It was a disaster from the start. I did so much better when the base gown came from davids.

Supermama- as I told the girl, I have an amazing streamstress, but in indiana. Convince her to visit!

also, the skirt of the gown she told to me has been done before, she just has to keep looking.

Actually david's bridal in Brooklyn has tzniusdikke gowns.

ClaRivka - she decided to do a different look because her cousin is going to be wearing a similar style gown and the kallah can't match a "bridesmaid."

My sister also wants a custom gown so bubby what size is your daughters gown? How tall is she?
