When ordering shoes online, how do you make sure they'll fit? be comfy? etc... especially since shipping is a killer!

| find a site that offers free return shipping and has a good return policy. order a bunch of pairs in a few sizes and return the ones that don't fit.

That's why I usually don't order shoes online.
Two options: 1) buy a company that you have used before
2) in the states we have a site - zappos, with free shipping both ways for just such problems

I order from sites that have free return shipping, free shipping, and great return policies.
I just ordered 3 pairs of shoes from endless.com I got free shipping, $30 off my order, and I know I can return them if there are any problems.. do they have such places in France?

I usually know what size to wear depending on the brand. I won't buy online if I've never worn the brand of shoes before.
I use Zappos.com a lot though and they have free shipping and an easy return policy if something doesn't work out. I'm not sure if they ship to France though.

| zappos.com, shoebuy.com, shoemall.com, shoes.com, endless.com, piperlime.com - free shipping and free returns! I'm a veteran online shoe shopper and with those services it's amazing. Many of them even offer 110% price protection policies, so if you find it cheaper somewhere else, they'll give it to you for 10% cheaper.

| Yeah, we have free shipping and free returns here in the US so it's no big deal buying a few pairs and returning what doesn't fit. I do usually stick to certain brands and I know how they run.

I just did this: I went to a store that had a shoe I liked… the price was outrageous. I walked out. Ordered it online for 1/18th of the price.

just a warning: there may be a problem in doing this in a small, privately owned store. I was always taught that if you walk into a privately owned establishment with no intention of buying, you are halachicly obligated to tell the owner that you are just looking. so it's best to do this in large chain stores.

Are they halachically obligated to tell us, BTW I am charging you 180% more than other retailers so be aware of sticker shock?! They aren’t… I won’t tell either.

What kind/brands do you wear? You strike me as a practical but stylish lady and I'm looking for comfie but practical shoes.

shaklee, I mean someone who goes in with no intention of buying. not someone who walks in with a possible intention of buying and is scared off by insane prices. if you go in intending to try on the shoes so you can order them online, tell them you're just looking.

Is there a site where I can get kids' shoes at Walmart/Target prices? Neither of those have what I like in the size I need. I got a great pair of ankle-high boots for one kid for the winter online at Target (real leather, OshKosh brand, $17!!) but I can find nothing in the other kid's size.
Any site with good cheap (under $30) kids' shoes?

I like children's place.
I recently got some shoes at payless, they're having a buy one get one half off sale.
