| |
How do I stop my cleaing lady from getting more "homey".
When I tell her the stove, she will not only do the stove but the dishes and counters to!
I tell her in the dining room to only do the tabel and chairs but last week I found her cleaning my desk!
I dont give her the same oder every week this way she has to ask me what is next vs. just doing everything on her own.
How can I tell her not to do what I dont ask without sounding rude? - she doest speak much english.

I'm trying to figure out why you want to stop her!
But I guess the thing is to stay nearby and when she has finished one task ask her to please do "x" now. _________________ But then again, I'm a dragon.

I dont want her to mix things up in the kitchen, mess up my papers on my desk etc.
She will put stuff away with out telling me and I will search my house for it! (dh was searching for his charger for his trimmer for weeks - she put it on the kitchen counter behind the mixer )

Then I think until she learns the ropes (and it may pay to try and learn a few words at least in whatever language she speaks) you need to stay near and then ask her to do X after she is done.
If you have two sinks, then show her to do dishes from "this sink with the sponge, that is in this container"
and wash "this counter with this sponge" Make it easy for her to identify the correct sponges or cleaning supplies.
As far as your desk goes, ask her to leave everything on the desk on the desk. She can straighten piles or put everything on top into drawer A if you like.
Honestly, this woman sounds like a gem. Help her learn what you want from her and appreciate her greatly.

| When you tell her, tell her ONLY this or that. Find out how to say only in her language.

My cleaning lady organizes the things on my dresser when I ask her to just sweep and wash the floor in our bedroom.
Just tell her, "Oh, no, not that. ONLY this." after a few times she'll get that you want just the thing you ask for. _________________

| I'm not home when my cleaning lady's here. She's great, in using initiative to do things, but not so great in figuring out where things go. For about a month, I kept finding contact lens solution in the kitchen, with my bottles of oil and stuff! And I still can't find the charger for the hair trimmer... - maybe I should check my kitchen gadgets?
