How was your baby when you started to sing Shema to him/her at night?

(Do you say Hashem's name when you say it?)

From birth, more or less. (Can't say I've never missed a night)

There's no problem with saying Hashem's name because they are psukim from the Torah and you can say them as many times a day as you like. (The problem is with brochos.)

oh I also say it as it is written cause well... I view it as these "songs" not only come from the torah but I use them as a teaching tool.

I say it between 3-5 times every night with my little ones. Have done with all my kids since birth.

My twins are the same age. They shout out "bam!" (as in vedibarta bam) throughout!

Basically since birth and I do say Hashem's name because you can when you're saying a full pasuk.

Usually, when I start to say shema, he just shakes his head no because he knows he's going to be going to sleep and doesn't want to...But I do hope that one day he makes an attempt to say some of it with me....

I too started from birth. Yes, I say Hashem's name. There may have been the odd night I have missed though. She is still under a year, so I have no cute stories to report yet here.
