I realize that I'm not so tired on Shabbos but I still nap because I want to be able to stay up late Motzei Shabbos to get things done. I do get enjoyment out of napping but is there a halachic consideration when knowing the reason for my napping is to benefit after Shabbos mostly? What do you think?

Not being a Rav, I can't really answer you. However, I would have thought it all relates to intent. For example, I crash over Shabbos bc I am just so tired from the rest of the week. On the other hand, I am happy to do so bc I know I will be firing on all cylinders later on. Is that right? I don't see it as a problem ... unless of course the only reason you are sleeping then is purely to do something on Motzoei Shabbos.

I know when shabbos falls out on erev pesach its fine to sleep so you can stay up for the seder, just one shouldn't say thats why he's doing it.

I wonder if the same would apply here.

Anything you do on shabbos that has a benefit on shabbos can be done, even if it benefits you after shabbos too. If you really don't want to rest but force yourself to because you want to be up later, you probably couldn't do it. As long as you enjoy it it's fine.

I think Aidelmom is right that you're not allowed to say on Shabbos - I'm taking a nap so I can stay up later, etc. but you are allowed to sleep on shabbos for that purpose I think.
