I grew up on things like Cinderella, Snow White, Princess and the Pea type stories. DD is now at the age where she loves hearing stories, in the car, while she's eating. It's a great way to keep her entertained. But all I know are these stories with horrible plots and moral messages. I'm not too good at making them up on my own. Are there any books that are something like fairy tales but with kosher messages?

Visit a Judaica store and look at the children's books.

There are a bunch of books that come to mind that fit the bill, books based on stories in Chazal and Medrash.

Rabbi Nachman stories for children.

The blue Machanayim books are great. They're stories of tzaddikim. My 5 yr old really enjoys them.

The Story Teller

and when she gets a little older, any of Gershon Kranzler's books, they don't make the best reading, but the story lines are amazing.
