| |
My daughter is iy"h turning 10 in less than a month. She always had a birthday party with all of her classmates, but now that she's going to be a double digit, and I said no more, except her bas mitzvah. I told her she can invite 3-4 of her friends over all day Sunday or after school and they can sleep over. I'm not calling it a party because then she has to invite the whole class, this is a birthday get together . Anyway, I was wondering if anybody can give ideas what they can do either for sunday or sleepover? The food is taken care of, they're going to make their own pizza. We've been doing that anyway for sunday dinner anyway. I know they can keep themselves busy somehow, but I want a little something prepared. I just can't think of anything. My mind is blank and it's all amother's fault because if I didn't have here to turn, I'd probably come up with ideas. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ALL THE IDEAS!!!!

What about some sort of arts&crafts project? You could buy cheap plain white long-sleeved t-shirts for the girls to decorate. I went to a slumber party once where the mom bought cheap canvas sneakers that we decorated. I think t-shirts are more practical though. I had a slumber party when I was 9 (my last party until my bat-mitzvah). We decorated mugs, and then my mother filled them with goodies for everyone to take home.
I'm not so creative, but I'm sure there are tons of "crafty" things to do that will keep the kids occupied for a while.

| Btw, with the scrapbook stuff just have them bring a few pictures and leave th rest up to them. Another fun idea is to buy a few white pillowcases and puffpaint. Then the have a reminder of the sleepover!

You just reminded me that I have like 100 kids craft books. See what imamother does to you?! When I usually look through them, I try to do something for all my kids, different ages, but this is only one age. Thanks, but if anybody else has any other ideas, thanks, because then I don't have to look through the books .
The mug idea is really cute, thanks.
I don't do scrapbooking (don't see the point) and I don't think anybody really does it here, but thanks

my dd went to a bday party sunday where they painted cheap cardboard picture frames and then got some decals to glue on.
pop some popcorn. thread a needle with a long piece of thread and then make popcorn necklaces. I remember doing that on my own when I was about that age and a friend came over. not fancy. really cheapo. fun.

| Thanks for all the ideas, so far, we're going to make pizza and decorate cupcakes and not sure about the craft project yet, but does anyone know of any games that does not involve giving prizes, except for the winner?

| what about a game like pictionary or win/lose/draw it fun and creative and you can make up the cards!. Also "wheel of fortune" style games are fun - you'know spell/guess the phrase kind of things.

| There is a woman in Flatbush that makes jewlery with the girls/women. I know it's $25- per person for a minimum of 5 pple. and you get to make as many pieces of jewelery in 1 hour. I know she also goes to parties and camps but I'm not sure what the minimum there is. I don't have the number right now but if you need it I can get it. I myself didn't get to go to her yet but it sounds really great for all ages.

Thank you, but 2 things:
1. I don't live in NY.
2. B"h, I'm creative enough to do something on my own.
Funny thing is that when I lived in NY, I was thinking of starting a business with my sister to do some sort of arts entertainment for b-day parties and basically plan and take care of the whole thing. I moved and she got married and moved also.

We did this last month for LEAH She had a spa nite. I made avacodo facial and sliced up cucumbers. They paired off. One lay on a towel while the other applied the avacado on their faces and placed cucumbers on their eyes. Then they got a foot massage. After each girl had that (of course they had the stuffed wiped off with face sponges from the dollar store and a bowl of warm H20) done, they did manicurea and pedicures to each other. A girl brought a hair strightener and then they did each others hair. Before all that we decorated cupcakes, and had dress your own pizza for dinner. Some girls selpt over. In the morning they made jewelry(outta beads etc from the dollar store) that were so amazing (it was mom's day, some gave as gifts to their moms) and others made some that they sold at school for tzdakah. Breakfast was pancakes and crepes. Apperently it was the best party ever!! _________________ I live to eat and eat to live!

"hot potatoe" where you wrap the present a bunch of times and play music where it stops - a girl opens - repeat until someone unwraps the present ...
as for crafts ... bake cupcakes & decorate ... design sunvisors ... or make & stuff pillows ... or buy embroidery thread and make friendship bracelets ... the list goes on ...
have FUN !!! _________________ _________________
