can you please give me some ideas for what to serve a 2 year old kid on a gluten free and dairy free diet on pesach for breakfast? only one box of oat matzah is available, so it cannot be served every morning.

thank you so much.

can he/she have eggs? you can make scrambled eggs with potato - yummy and filling. why does breakfast have to be "breakfasty" will your child eat chicken or something like that for breakfast? My kids don't eat much matzah and we sometimes go without milchigs when they have a cold (always around pesach time of course) so thats when I serve whatever is left over or scrambled eggs. If your child eats veggies those are good too. Either as a side or thrown into the omlet.

thanks. that's a great idea.

it's actually my sister's son. she asked me to post this here (having heard so much about the brilliant ideas/tips/recipes I've picked up in this great place).

soups, potato dumplings or latkes are also fun. she can try latkes made with sweet potato, carrot and zucchinni too for something different.

My kids often have salads for breakfast (apple-celery, citrus salad, compote, fresh fruit salad, israeli salad, etc...). Also avocado spread is great! I don't know if you eat celery but it's a great dip'n'scoop food.

My kids don't like meat in the morning so much (although I could eat chicken or meat anytime!) so we tend to lay off it at that time of day.

Eggs are a sure winner too!

thanks for the ideas.

eggs are out too cuz he's had allergic reactions to them. it hasn't yet been confirmed by the allergist, but she is trying not to give him plain eggs. she could use it in recipes though.

squash - we are egg and dairy (also, no fish) free cuz of the kids too, I use water or juice in place of milk in thinkg like pancakes, etc...

As I said before, lots of fruit and potato stuff, also my son (who can eat fish) will have herring or salmon or gefilte fish for breakfast (if your sis wants I make an egg free gefilte and everyone likes it!)
