Has anyone has any success in dealing with allergies in babies. My son, 14 months, has constant sinus issues, water itchy eyes etc. Which leads to frequent eye/ear/sinus infections.
The eye doc finally told me that he has alleriges, but when I asked him to recommend me an allergist, he told me that an allergist wont be able to do anything for him at this point because he is too young,
It is very frusturating to see my son uncomfortable without being able to help me, the doc gave me eye drops to treat the eye issue for allergies and suggested I call my ped. to treat the symptoms, but I would much rather, treat the source.

I think that he prob. has more of an evironmental allergy as opposed to a food allergy, so I think it would be hard for me to try and guess by elimination what it is.

I would say to go to an allergist. My son also had lots of colds, ear infections, vomiting and diarhea. I finally went to an allergist when he was almost 2. We found out that it was food related and seasonal. his ped and and gastro specialist told me for a year that an allergist couldn't do anything. But they did, they tested him for allergies and we were able to pinpoint what he was allergic to. It can't hurt to go to an allerigist, it can only help.

my daughter was slightly older than your son when I discovered she was allergic to certain foods. She was 19 months old. She broke out with eczema on her face & a terrible cough that just couldn't be cured with anything (humidifier, cough syrup, compresses etc..) I finally brought her in to my homeopath who tested her. I found out that she's allergic to dairy & corn. As soon as I took her off these foods, the symptoms have not returned. So yes, you can test very young children for allergies. Sometimes not with conventional medicine but with alternative.

My mother has a tried and true way to test allergies..
take a key, or any other metal lightweight object and hang it on a thread, put the food in the childs hand, and you have to hold the necklace with the key a little above the hand, and if it turns clockwise then that food is ok, if it turns counterclockwise the child is allergic...
You can laugh as much as you want or disbelive what I say, but quite a few mothers have come to my mother to test their babies that had bad cases of eczema, and they are better now..
my mother has tested all of our kids and my nieces and nephews, and all of them were allergic to some things, they stopped eating those things and the allergies stopped..
To ease things, my mother took 1 oz. liquer cups and filled them with all kinds of food (e/thing excpet fresh food) put a piece of plastic on it and saves it in a shoe box so she has almost e/thing ready if s/one comes to test.. it takes about an hour to test for all foods. but it's worth it.

NAET is a method that actually CURES allergies. It's weird, but it really works.

What is it?
How does it work?
But to know how to treat it don't you first have to know what to treat? if you keep giving the same food the allergy will come back. you have to treat the root of the problem.
